Reiki
Reiki
( pronounced ray-key) is a japanese technique for stress reduction
and also promotes healing. It was discovered by Dr. Mikao
Usui in the early 1900's. Reiki is administered by "laying
on hands" and techniques such as this have been practiced
for thousands of years. Reiki is a very simple yet powerful
technique.
The word
Reiki comes from two Japanese words Reiki and Ki. The word
"Rei" means universal and this is the definition
most have accepted. The word "Ki" means the same
as Chi in Chinese, Prana in Sanskrit and Ti or Ki in Hawaiian.
It has also been called odic force and Bioplasma. Ki is life
energy. It is also known as the universal lifer force. This
is the non-physical energy that animates all living things.
Reiki practitioners
channel energy in a particular pattern to heal and harmonize.
Reiki seeks to restore order to the body whose vital energy
has become unbalanced.
Reiki energy has several
basic effects: it brings about deep relaxation, destroys energy
blockages, detoxifies the system, provides new vitality in
the form of healing universal life energy, and increases the
vibration frequency of the body.
